FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT PIERCINGS

CURIOUS ABOUT PIERCINGS?

At Dunia Ghabour Permanent Makeup Studio, we’re here to answer all your questions and help you feel confident about your decision.

1. Does getting a piercing hurt?

Pain levels depend on the location of the piercing and your pain tolerance. Most clients describe it as a quick, sharp pinch that subsides quickly.

2. How long does it take for a piercing to heal?

Healing times vary:

    •    Earlobe: 6-8 weeks

    •    Cartilage: 3-6 months

    •    Industrial: 6-12 months

3. What is the minimum age for getting a piercing?

In Connecticut, individuals under 18 must have parental consent for piercings. Visit our studio for details on documentation required.

4. Can I swim after getting a piercing?

Avoid swimming in pools, hot tubs, or open water during the healing period to reduce the risk of infection.

5. How do I know if my piercing is infected?

Signs of infection include excessive redness, swelling, yellow or green discharge, and prolonged tenderness. Contact your piercer or doctor if you suspect an infection.

6. Can I change my jewelry before my piercing is fully healed?

We recommend waiting until your piercing is fully healed before changing jewelry. Early removal can delay healing or cause irritation.

7. How do I clean my piercing?

Clean your piercing twice daily with sterile saline solution or a piercing aftercare product. Avoid harsh cleansers or alcohol.

8. What types of jewelry are safe for new piercings?

Choose high-quality materials such as surgical-grade stainless steel, titanium, or 14k gold to reduce the risk of irritation or infection.
